Recently I have been to Banglore for work and I stayed at Citadel Sarovar Portico Hotels. I’ve visited several 4-star hotels in my life and love reviewing each one of them. I created this blog—to share all my experiences in one place instead of using different platforms. My most recent stay was at the Sarovar Portico Hotel in Bangalore. Here’s my detailed review.
Location : Citadel Sarovar Portico
The location of Sarovar Portico is one of its highlights. Situated near a busy junction with a bus stop as a landmark, the hotel is conveniently accessible by cab, bus, and other forms of transport. While the airport is still quite a distance away, the hotel is relatively closer to the airport compared to other parts of Bangalore, like Electronics City or Whitefield, which are far more distant.
Dining Experience : Citadel Sarovar Portico
The food quality at Sarovar Portico was impressive. The hotel offers a buffet breakfast on the ground floor with a decent variety of options. The dining area, although not very large, was well-designed and comfortable. One of the highlights of my stay was the aloo paratha, which was generously stuffed and crispy, just the way I like it. However, I was a bit disappointed that there was no cappuccino machine available during my stay, as I am a coffee enthusiast. I believe that travelers often expect good coffee at a hotel, and this was a minor letdown.
Additional Observations
A couple of things to note: while the staff was friendly and responsive, services like Swiggy and Zomato were not available for room delivery, so we had to go downstairs to collect any orders. Despite this, the overall service was decent.
In summary, I would rate Sarovar Portico 7 out of 10. Although I have stayed in better hotels within a similar price range, I would not mind staying here again. For the price of ₹3,000 to ₹4,000 per night, I believe it’s worth the money. The hotel’s convenient location, good service, and decent amenities make it a viable option for frequent travelers like myself, especially when staying close to client locations is a priority. In my next blog post, I’ll be reviewing another hotel, so stay tuned!
